A construction site with a construction project sign in Tanzania

Tanzania has one of the youngest populations in the world with a median age of roughly 18 years. Much of the population lives in rural areas. Since gaining its independence in 1961, the commitment to education has been clear.

Local Challenges:

There are many children who do not yet have access to the education available. Girls experience much of the challenge in progressing from primary school to secondary and beyond. There are also teacher shortages and a limited classroom space.

Government Initiatives:

The government is working to improve conditions long-term. They have set a roadmap for reforms that can make a lasting impact across demographics. They also have a meaningful initiative that is geared towards helping girls return to school in the event of a pregnancy. They are also making a significant investment in healthcare access from hospitals to clinics across the nation.

Our Impact:

We began our first project in Tanzania in 2025. We have partnered with a local NGO that is operating a school in Arusha. They were in need of additional classroom space for their primary school-aged students. While it is still under construction, we are eager to see how the community involvement will make a lasting impact on this project. Please select below to learn more.
