Colombia
Colombia has a population of over fifty million, and the government is actively advancing programs to improve education and healthcare access. The median age is around 33 years, and the majority of the population lives in cities like Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali.
Local Challenges:
About 10% of children are not in school, with an impact heavy towards the secondary education phase. There are teacher shortages and gaps in infrastructure and connectivity.
Government Initiatives:
There are a many educational infrastructure projects underway. The ten-year Public Health Plan further integrates health and educational outcomes.
Our Impact:
We have had a lasting relationship in Colombia thanks in part to our nonprofit collaborator. They work to create wrap-around services with an educational core.
