India’s population is almost one and a half billion. Education is a clear priority, and there is still work to be done. Only about one third of the population lives in urban areas with the majority living elsewhere in rural and suburban areas. The median age is twenty nine years, the youngest among major nations.

Local Challenges:

Enrollment is not the challenge here. The current emphasis is on outcomes and parity. They are also targeting equity in access, teacher training, and school leadership.

Government Initiatives:

The National Education Policy of 2025 is a significant shift seeking to improve competency-based educational outcomes. They are gearing up to be a global hub of education.

Our Impact:

We have been able to support two schools and one Children’s Resource Center in India. Two are in the Northern Region, and the newest, The Lingavadi Chidlren’s Resource Center is being built near Madurai, in the state of Tamil Nadu. Select a project below to learn more.
