The Role of Youth in Transforming Communities:
In Guatemala, the Ak’Tenamit Education Center has been a project of Lucas Che’s for years. Supported by the Guatemalan Tomorrow Fund. This community center and school runs its own restaurant, with staff trained by the school. They provide education and vocational resources for children and adults. They also work to keep access to the water safe and clear.
We began partnership with this school in early 2024 and we contributed to 3 classrooms that needed new weatherization and roofing. We also were able to help with upgrading their solar paneling.
Mission: “A future where indigenous Guatemalans, empowered by education and opportunity, lead their own path to health, prosperity, and self-determination.”

Ideas for Further Involvement:
This is a great community, and they appreciate your support. If you want to contribute directly to the school and community members you can check their website above. We are also working to develop a way for people to contribute during visits.
