EORM: Aldea La Cooperativa
In Guatemala, some schools are categorized as “ESCUELA OFICIAL RURAL MIXTA“, or EORM for short. This helps to provide structure for schools in rural areas that may benefit from extra support and resources, distinct from schools in busy areas.
This particular school, officially called EORM Aldea La Cooperativa San Felipe de Lara, is in Livingston, Izabal. With 8 staff members and roughly 150 students they are all very busy.
We worked closely with them to help develop their school as a community resource. We helped to create a safe recreation space, a new schoolhouse, and new lavatories. Their principal and staff were appreciative and had a true knowledge of and concern for their students and families.
If you happen to visit, please say hello to everyone at the school! They have much to share.
The official inauguration celebration was on November 18th, 2025. Construction is complete!
