Empowering Kikorongo Women: Community Projects Making an Impact:
The Kikorongo Women’s Community has been an established organization and nonprofit for years. When we heard of their work, we set up listening sessions with the local staff and community members to help identify what projects were needed most by the organization. They had been working diligently to empower their communities with women-led projects and services for years. Even though they had received local recognition for their efforts, they had also faced hardship. They have had to work tirelessly just to ensure their organization and name remains under local community control.
We were so pleased to be able to help them with their project. The 2024 project included water harvesting and storage, new lavatories, a new schoolhouse, and solar power generation and storage. They also received support and engagement from the Kasese Platform Advocacy Network (KAPLANET), and the Kazinga Channel Schools Project.
We look forward to a lasting relationship with the KWC School and the community as a whole. For more information about their work, check out their website here: Kikorongo Women’s Community Organization

Ideas for Further Involvement:
This location is part of an established nonprofit, and you may be able to connect with them directly from their website. We are working on a way for people who visit the school to actively participate in its further development.
