Rebuilding Education: Shree Panauti School in Nepal
The Gate 1 Foundation’s first school partnership in Nepal was originally one of the oldest schools in the Khopasi region. Unfortunately, in 2015, the school and surrounding buildings suffered significant damage after an Earthquake.
We undertook the challenge of creating a new school with the community. A local builder designed a modern, multilevel schoolhouse, that can accommodate up to 280 students. It includes a play yard for recreation and includes Earthquake resistance and protection in its design. Construction began in 2018 and was completed in 2023.
Thanks to Educational Exchange visits arranged by the school, the students have enjoyed interacting with people from their community and abroad. They have even received donations of supplies and gifts from visitors.

Ideas for Further Involvement:
This location is a public school and cannot receive cash donations without creating a vulnerability for the community. We are working on a way for people who visit the school to actively participate in its further development. Until then, if you’re visiting, please consider bringing school supplies and materials.
